TO RECEIVE SUPPORT
The COC is a 501C3 nonprofit committed to helping cancer patients in active treatment succeed on their road to recovery through awareness, emotional support and financial relief services to prevent eviction, utility disconnects, vehicle repossessions, and more.
Through the process of identifying, connecting and servicing we step in to meet needs that otherwise go unmet.
THE COC PROGRAMS
“We Care!”
The “We Care" program provides an avenue for newly diagnosed cancer patients in Central Ohio to connect with volunteers who desire to assist those in active treatment. This connection ranges from a listening ear to companionship at treatments to home assistance to support for the person and their family when having chemotherapy and/or surgery. Support service volunteers are available by phone, text, email and/or in person, whenever needed.
To apply for "We Care" program services applicant must be a resident of Central Ohio and/or surrounding areas, be in active treatment and would like to connect with a volunteer.
"Dollars Allocated To Assist" (DATA)
The “DATA” program seeks to connect active treatment cancer patients to established resources in the area where they live. Should none be identified the program works to provide assistance to prevent eviction, utility disconnect, car repos, and more.
To apply for the “DATA” program services applicant must be in active treatment and have a need that is the result of being actively treated. The program's financial assistance offering is solely dependent on our ability to raise money through our creative fundraising activities.
Note: The submission of a completed “DATA” program application does not guarantee that financial assistance will be approved in part or in full. Since funding is donation driven we are unable to offer a timeframe in which assistance may, if at all, be granted.
“Be aware!”
The "Be Aware” program is designed to inform individuals the importance of performing monthly self exams, seeking medical attention if needed, and gaining awareness about overcoming obstacles during one’s cancer journey.
Through the “Be Aware” Program we also extend speaker request opportunities to inform, educate, and encourage throughout the community.
